Mens Quick Fitness Fix - Mens Fitness Training Tips

Written by DSQ Gym Team | Nov 29, 2018 3:32:12 PM

Whether they admit it or not - this is the time of the year when men become secretly body conscious, spending hour upon hour pumping iron in the gym in an attempt to craft and tone their bodies. Whether you’re suited to the soothingly calmer side of fitness, or you prefer intensively energetic routines, we have a few suggestions to get your pulse racing.

Body resistance training

No gym membership? No problem.

Body Resistance Training requires no super-modern-airo-thermo-sports-lux-tech equipment. Classic exercises such as planks, press-ups, pull ups, burpees and dips are great for an all body workout and use nothing other than your own body weight. Sound easy? You’ll be wringing your vest with sweat (or tears) in no time. Check out our ‘Gravity’ class that is especially designed for body resistance training.

The heights of training

One hot fitness trend this summer will see you gliding above your yoga mat. Fitness studios across London and the UK, such as ‘Flying Fantastic’, are embracing ‘Aerial Training’. Fancy striking a pose whilst intertwined in bungee ropes, as though you’re the new star headliner at this summer’s circus? Give Aerial Training a go. No matter the intensity or height, the control is in your hands. Somewhat airy-fairy you may think? You’ll soon be thinking otherwise as you’re relying on your upper and lower body strength to stabilise and secure yourself in mid air.

HIIT the gym hard

An exhaustingly intense exercise that guarantees to pump up that heartbeat and to shred that dreaded belly fat, is the High Intensity Interval training (HIIT). Feared by most, this is not for the faint hearted.

The HIIT training requires alternating between periods of maximum effort and very short recovery between sets. Think, 30 seconds squatting, sprinting or skipping full pelt with a 10 second rest. Whether you prefer weights or cardio, HIIT training can be adapted to any routine. We offer HIIT classes at Dolphin Fitness where our experienced personal trainers will put you through your paces. So don’t suck it in. Suck it up!

If you’d like to take part in any of our classes and become beach body ready, please take a look at our timetable.
