The Lord High Admiral

Situated at 95 Church Street, Marylebone, NW8 8EY, The Lord High Admiral is certainly a grand sounding drinking establishment. In reality, it’s a fairly small place, but don’t let that fool you, and don’t become confused by the name – this friendly pub is a great place to meet for a drink after work or to pop into on your way past.
It’s especially ideal if you love your sports since this is a venue that loves showing football up on the big screen. There are also two pool tables so if you’re looking for a way to unwind and get away from the stresses of the day, this might be the best spot to do it.
The White Swan
Location: 14 Vauxhall Bridge Rd, Westminster, London SW1V 2SA
Over at the White Swan, found at 14 Vauxhall Bridge Road, Westminster, SW1V 2SA you’ll find a menu that is jam packed full of English food. That makes it a draw for tourists, of course, if they are looking for something authentic, but it’s great for locals too since the food is delicious and the drinks are varied.
There is history at The White Swan; it has been trading as a pub since 1759, and if you want to learn more about the history of this part of London, you can do so here while enjoying a pint and some good pub grub.
The Jugged Hare
Location: 172 Vauxhall Bridge Rd, Victoria, London SW1V 1DX
Another resident of Vauxhall Bridge Road, this time at 172, the Jugged Hare used to be a bank, and the grand columns and high ceilings are still very much in situ. Although in some places this might make enjoying a drink an uncomfortable experience, here it is entirely the opposite – the way that The Jugged Hare has been decorated and brought up to date whilst still retaining some traditional features makes it not only comfortable but attractive too.
And then there’s the food. You don’t have to eat when you come here, but since there are smaller bar snacks available as well as main meals, you might as well! Choices are many, but some items include Vietnamese spicy chicken wings, roast corn-fed chicken breast, cheddar rarebit and chutney, and a vast selection of handcrafted pies.
The Morpeth Arms
Location: 58 Millbank, SW1P 4RW
If you head towards the Tate Britain (always a worthwhile endeavour) from Vauxhall Bridge Road, you are sure to come across the Morpeth Arms at 58 Millbank, SW1P 4RW. This pub is probably most famous for being one of the most haunted pubs in London, and the basement was where the holding cells were for convicts who were to be shipped to Australia from Millbank Prison. Some say they didn’t all make it onto the ships, and their spirits still lurk down there…
Whether you believe in ghosts or not, the pub is still a lovely place to visit. Good food (Portobello mushroom burger or chorizo hash, for example) and drink make this a must-visit pub when in the area.
The Thomas Cubitt

For something lively and exciting, The Thomas Cubitt, with its friendly, vivacious ground floor bar at 44 Elizabeth Street, Belgravia, SW1W 9PA is exactly where you want to head to. In the winter there are working fireplaces alight to make you feel cosy and relaxed, and during the summer you can sit outside and watch the world go by, which is always a fun thing to do when in London, and perhaps particularly when in the Victoria area.
There is also a more formal dining room if you want to dine in style, plus a drawing room, an atrium, and even a room available for private hire. Pick your spot and no matter what the occasion you will find a place to celebrate it here, even if it’s just the fact that you’ve finished work for the day.
The Millbank Lounge

Pubs that are located near to fascinating attractions in London are always going to be popular, and The Millbank Lounge, just behind the Tate Britain at 30 St John Islip Street, is one of these very establishments.
This is not just any old pub, though; it has an award-winning bar which includes an astonishing whiskey library. You can also order some rather intriguing cocktails, and there are even cigars to choose too. As we said, this isn’t just any old pub, and even if it wasn’t in such a great location, people would visit.
The Clarendon

Its real claim to goodness is the friendly staff who work there; whether you’re a tourist, an occasional visitor, or you live or work in the area and this is your local, you will be treated in the same happy, friendly way, and you’ll leave feeling as though you’ve made some great new friends. That’s a great way to enjoy an evening.
To make matters even better, if you enjoy ales then this is the pub for you. There is a large selection of ales here and the staff will be more than happy to let you try some of them before you opt for the one you like best.
The Constitution

Regular live music, big screen sporting events, excellent food (such as carrot and coriander soup, a ‘Big Daddy Mac’ (a grilled 6oz Aberdeen Angus beef burger topped with decadent mac ‘n’ cheese, smoked streaky bacon and maple and bourbon BBQ sauce), and a Neapolitan sundae amongst many other choices), a huge variety of drinks, a selection which changes on a regular basis, and a funky, fresh interior combine to make The Constitution a great London pub.
