Travel time from Dolphin Square to Heathrow, Gatwick and other London airports

With several airports and countless train stations connecting the city nationally and internationally, London is an exceptionally well-connected city that welcomes visitors from all across the globe.

Working out where to stay in relation to the airport you're flying into can be tricky for first-time visitors, so we've pulled together this guide of how to get to and from Dolphin Square from London's main airports.

Dolphin Square to London City Airport

This is London's most centrally-located airport, nestled just down the river from the most central areas.

The DLR (Docklands Light Railway) has a station located right at the airport which makes the DLR one of the easiest ways to travel there. 

To get from Dolphin Square to London City Airport we recommend the following route:

• Walk to Pimlico Underground Station - about 5 minutes
• Catch the Victoria Line to Green Park - about 3 minutes
• Catch the Jubilee Line to Canning Town - about 16 minutes
• Catch the DLR to London City Airport - about 8 minutes

The combined journey time should be about 40 minutes, although obviously bear in mind you might take longer with luggage.

Dolphin Square to Heathrow Airport

Heathrow Airport is located to the west of London and has several different transport options connecting it to the city centre. The fastest option is the Heathrow Express train which goes straight through to Paddington Station. Trains leave regularly and travel time is around 15 minutes.

To get from Dolphin Square to Heathrow we recommend the following:

• Walk to Pimlico Underground - about 5 minutes
• Catch the Victoria Line to Green Park - about 3 minutes
• Catch the Piccadilly Line to Heathrow - about 45 minutes, depending on your terminal

Remember that each there are different stations depending on the terminal you're traveling from - double check you get off at the right one!

Dolphin Square to London Stansted 

Located the furthest out from the city centre, the easiest travel option from London Stansted airport is to catch the Stansted Express train. It takes you into London Liverpool Street station in approximately 50 mins with trains leaving the airport every 15 minutes.

Here's how to get from Dolphin Square to London Stansted:

• Walk to Pimlico Underground - about 5 minutes
• Catch the Victoria Line to Tottenham Hale - about 20 minutes
• Catch the Stansted Express to Stansted Airport - about 40 minutes

Total journey time is about 1 hour fifteen minutes.

Dolphin Square to Gatwick Airport

To the west of the city, you'll find Gatwick airport. The Gatwick Express goes straight through to Victoria Station every 15 mins and takes around 30 mins to arrive. Victoria offers mainline train connections, a tube stop and is situated just next to the Victoria coach station for national and international bus and coach travel.

Here's how to get from Dolphin Square to Gatwick:

• Walk to Pimlico Underground - about 5 minutes
• Catch the Victoria Line to Victoria Station - about 2 minutes
• Catch the Gatwick Express towards Brighton and get off at Gatwick - about 30 minutes
